As a nonprofit community-based organization, Knute Nelson recognizes the value of community partnerships to achieve a common goal and mission. The power of partnership allows us to accomplish so much more with our community partners than on our own. In 2021, Knute Nelson embarked on the following projects in concert with our community partners.
Knute Nelson offers a unique benefit to employees to encourage volunteering in the community, called VTO (Volunteer Time Off). In 2021, Knute Nelson employees volunteered over 247 hours at community organizations. Some examples of organizations where employees volunteered include United Way, Douglas County Food Shelf, bell ringing for Salvation Army, Alexandria YMCA, Habitat for Humanity builds, and Alexandria Area Young Professionals.
Let’s take a look into one of our partnerships...
ALEXANDRIA TECHNICAL & COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Knute Nelson is now a Founding Partner with the Alexandria Technical & Community College (ATCC) Foundation to provide workforce development scholarships to ATCC students who are pursuing degrees in Nursing, Medical Coding, and IT programs at the College.
Knute Nelson continues the partnership with the Alexandria Area High School (AAHS) and Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) by offering a pathway for high school students to obtain Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credentials. The expansion of the CNA program at Alexandria Area High school has positively impacted the students who are pursuing careers in health care. The CNA program is the first and currently the only recognized credential offered at Alexandria Area High School.
