“I was inspired to become a sustaining donor to the Knute Nelson Foundation because it’s easy and, no matter the amount, I know my monthly gift makes a significant impact over time. I love being reminded with each month’s bank statement that my contribution is helping enhance the lives of all we serve across the spectrum of care at Knute Nelson.”
—Terri Bursch, Foundation Board Vice Chair
“Knute Nelson is an amazing organization. Management and staff live and breathe their motto of enriching the lives of the people they serve. They nurture a wonderful work culture that overflows onto their residents and clients to provide quality care and services. My father spent his last few weeks of life in the comfort of their compassionate and professional care. These experiences have left a lasting impression on me and have inspired me to continue to support Knute Nelson with service and as a monthly donor.”
—Rich Moen, DDS, Foundation Board Treasurer
“I am a retired Zion Lutheran elementary teacher and my late wife, Arnice, was a nursing supervisor at Douglas County Hospital. Arnice and I both believe in education, and we love the idea of paying it forward. I wanted to honor Arnice with leaving our legacy at Knute Nelson – to further their work by supporting their caregivers with scholarships for their continued education and training in health care. My wife and I will forever support growth and education and care for our community.”
“Becky and I were inspired to make a gift of appreciated stock to the Knute Nelson Foundation not only because the Foundation provides wonderful services to residents but also because it was so easy. I had some stock from a bonus program at my previous employer which had appreciated over the years and would have been taxed had I sold it. Instead, I passed it easily to the Foundation. No tax and a tax deduction on my tax return. It was a win, win. On top of this it helped the Foundation. So a win, win, win.”
