When you or your loved one receive skilled nursing care in our community, you'll receive the 24-hour support and personal care you need.
More than that, a variety of activities and visits from children from the on-site child care center will help you thrive.
Our skilled nursing facility staff are on-site 24-hours per day. You or your loved one are taken care of at any time of the day or night. Some things nurses help residents with include:
You can rest assured knowing you, or your loved one, will receive the care you need to feel valued, comfortable and safe.
Each individual we serve is unique and deserves to thrive while doing the things they love. Because we get to know each of our residents as people (not just by name), our activities staff are able to dream up fun, interesting and engaging activities that residents not only enjoy but look forward to. We connect people with similar interests and if you’re interested in an activity we don’t offer, our staff will do their best to accommodate your requests.
No matter your physical or cognitive ability, you can participate in our activities. Some of which include:

Children in the YMCA Child Care Center at the Knute Nelson Care Center visit residents for weekly activities. They also often walk through the Nursing Home singing or using the hallways as an extension of their classroom, looking, for example, everything they see that's red. The kids call residents of the Care Center their "grand buddies."
Our number one priority is the health, wellness and safety of those we serve and our staff. Safety has been—and will continue to be—our highest priority.
We follow all recommendations from the experts at the Minnesota Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We continue to follow safety precautions, test residents and staff for COVID-19 on an ongoing basis, and encourage all staff and residents to get vaccinated while giving them the opportunity to do so regularly.
