Join us at Nelson Gables to celebrate the first day of Spring! Spring is a season of change. You may be exploring a change in your life or the life of a loved one, with the possibility of a move to a senior living community. An important part of making this choice is exploring the many wonderful options available to you. On Tuesday, March 20th, Nelson Gables will be hosting a free event to allow you the opportunity to explore our community.
The 12th annual Knute Nelson Foundation Golf Classic will take place on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Geneva Golf Club. A significant portion of all proceeds will be directed to the Knute Nelson Chapel and Chapel Lounge renovation. Giving to the Knute Nelson Foundation ensures that we can continue to offer those we serve the highest quality care, while pursuing innovative new ways to meet their ever-changing needs.
The Tree of Excellence Award is the highest level of recognition through the Knute Nelson Recognition Program. Here are just a few comments from Michelle’s peers that were included on her nomination form: “She is thankful and grateful for her job and role at the facility.” “She feels it is a privilege to care for the Sisters and wants them to have an enriched live.”
Knute Nelson is expanding their presence by adding hospice services to the Baxter area. Knute Nelson has had a local presence in Baxter for over two years, serving area residents with quality home care services. Knute Nelson Hospice strives to make every day matter, make every day comfortable, and make every day as joyful as possible for our patients who are living with a terminal or life limiting illness. Their primary focus is on managing the patient’s pain and troubling symptoms, while providing the emotional and spiritual support needed to help patients live their life comfortably.
By deciding what end-of-life care best suits your needs when you are healthy, you can help those close to you make the right choices when the time comes. This not only respects your values, but also may give your loved ones comfort.
A free educational seminar, “Advance Care Planning & the Hospice Philosophy” will discuss how to communicate your wishes for end-of-life so that decisions made are based on your personal values and preferences. The community is invited to attend the seminar, which begins at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 19. Vivian Heltemes, RN, with Knute Nelson Hospice, will explore this topic in depth. This free seminar is held at Stevens Community Medical Center, 400 East First Street, Morris.
