Plans for New Senior Living Community
Nov 27, 2019 by Danielle Andersen
Knute Nelson announces plans to build a senior lifestyle housing community in Baxter in 2020. The location for the proposed development is at the southeast corner of County Road 48/Highland Scenic Road and Mapleton Road in Baxter.
The need for senior lifestyle housing for aging adults is prevalent, especially as the population in the Brainerd Lakes area is projected to increase significantly. As a result, Knute Nelson is responding to these challenges to ensure community members remain living in the local area.
“We are actively pursuing ways to respond to the growing demographic. Expanding our offerings in the Brainerd Lakes area helps ensure that area families have access to the services they need and depend on now and into the future,” said Mark Anderson, president/CEO of Knute Nelson.
Development plans include independent/assisted living apartments, enhanced assisted living apartments as well as a secure memory care household. Knute Nelson plans to use an "aging in place" housing model, a hybrid senior lifestyle model, that allows residents residing in independent living to add assisted living services without a move.
The community will also feature an array of town center amenities such as a bistro, restaurant, community room, four season porch, multipurpose room, club lounge, car wash bay, resident storage, spa, underground parking, banquet hall and wellness center.
Knute Nelson Home Care and Hospice has been serving the Brainerd Lakes Area with quality nursing, home health aide and therapy services since 2012. Hospice services were introduced in 2018 and provide care to patients who have a terminal illness and their families. The office is located at 15670 Edgewood Drive, Suite 150, Baxter.
Project plans for the senior lifestyle housing community will be announced in the early 2020.
