Knute Nelson Therapy Services offers a team of specialized professionals in physical, occupational and speech-language therapy.
Each type of therapy is offered in a variety of settings:
Home Care
Knute Nelson Home Care offers therapy services from the comfort of your home
Outpatient Care
Our therapy staff can implement your physician's directions for outpatient services at the Knute Nelson Rehabilitation and Therapy Center or at the Nelson Wellness Center
Short-Term Inpatient Care
When appropriate, a short term stay at Knute Nelson's Rehabilitation and Therapy Center can help you to recovery quickly
Knute Nelson's new senior living community, Grand Arbor, will offer additional therapy options, including warm water aquatic therapy and more outpatient therapy opportunities.
Our therapy team is focused on providing a meaningful and goal-oriented therapy experience. Whether you want to get back on the golf course, return to gardening, sing in your choir or resume baking your favorite recipes, we incorporate those interests and goals into your therapy experience.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy (PT) is all about improving functional movement. Physical therapists are experts in the way the body moves and use treatment techniques, as well as fitness and wellness opportunities to help facilitate a healthier, more active lifestyle for patients. Our physical therapy team works with patients to increase strength, flexibility, balance and coordination needed to improve or maintain independence in daily life.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy (OT) brings a broad perspective to the evaluation and treatment of patients, including their physical condition, sensory perceptions, cognitive abilities, emotional state and spiritual dignity. Occupational therapists are experts at task analysis; they can take a common activity, such as getting dressed, and figure out how it can be done despite new limitations. Our occupational therapy team works with patients to resume roles, activities and “jobs” of daily living.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy (ST) includes the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders related to speaking, swallowing and communication. Speech therapists commonly work with patients who have neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke, Traumantic Brain Injury, Alzheimer’s and Aphasia. Our speech therapy team works with patients so they can communicate effectively and express themselves in daily life. They also help patients by evaluating and collaborating with physicians, nursing staff and caregivers to determine the safest textures for eating and drinking.
Featuring an LSVT ® trained speech clinician offering services to patients with Parkinson's or other neurological disorders.
