As an innovative leader in senior health care, Knute Nelson is moving forward on a new project that will redefine the paradigm for the next generation in Alexandria.
As the population of aging adults in the Alexandria area continues to grow, it is essential that we prepare for this drastic increase in population. It is estimated that the number of adults 55 and older in Douglas County will jump 70% from 2005 to 2030. And the number of adults age 65 and older with make an even more substantial jump, doubling in size during the same time period. Knute Nelson is taking the initiative to plan to support this population before it reaches its height.
Grand Arbor will be comprised of over 130 apartments, including independent living, general and high-acuity assisted living, as well as Alzheimer’s and memory care assisted living. A thriving town center will be a central component to the community, including a wellness center, chapel, library, technology center, as well as a salon and spa, hobby shop, and much more.
Walking paths and gardens will cover the grounds, allowing tenants numerous opportunities for socialization, as well as a chance to enjoy the beauty of each Minnesota season.
